Board Complaints

Each year thousands of complaints are filed against nurses, and these numbers appear to increase each year. Any individual may file a complaint against a nurse with the Nursing Board. Many of the complaints may lack merit, or they may simply be an act of retaliation. Currently, there are no sanctions in place for those who report frivolous or maleficent complaints about a nurse to the BON. NAA is dedicated to advocating for nurses and their practice. Nurses should not be burdened with defending themselves from unwarranted complaints. Our goal at NAA is to work with the BON to establish more effective oversight processes which support the nurse while discouraging malicious reporting. We encourage you to join and advocate for all nurses. You never know when you may be burdened with a board complaint which can have devastating effects on your professional and personal wellbeing.
